Nice little historic railway from the pier to near the Marina. There's a small information centre where you buy tickets at the pier end, that has details of the creation and history of the railway. Also a small coffee shop. Note the train has open sides so wear suitable clothing if it's raining! It was quiet when we visited but I guess you might have to queue in the school holidays or on sunny days.

OK it was pouring with rain when we were trying to get tickets for this lovley little vintage railway but the ticket office person didn't have to be so officious! But in general this is a must do when in Brighton but check first that it is open as it is seasonal.

Lovely little train ride along the side beach and to the marina. Plenty of seats and runs every 15 minutes. Worth a little trip.

I would have given 5stars if not for the driver that had personality of a turtle. Come on a smile, hello and thank you is not much to ask for. I understand these are volunteers but if you are not happy, don't go !

The only thing missing was a souvenir shop and a bit of publicity wouldn't go amiss. The pier westwards tends to be where most of the crowds are, and this gem to the east of the palace pier is quite well hidden. Unless I missed them, there weren't really any signs advertising the existence of this wonder of railway history. I saw it on the telly, so knew of it, but until we came upon it, it was quite the secret! Having said no shop, they do have a nice guide book to buy which gives you all the history, for the VER and the amazing "Daddy Long Legs" Pioneer.

Such a great little railway. Really good fun and lovely views along the beach. You can go to halfway (crazy golf, cafe and playground) or all the way to the marina and back. Highly recommended!
